Salad ala jungle [8]

Salad ala jungle [8]One element that defines working at jungle [8] are our homemade, exquisite salads. As homage to our weekly menu, we decided to create a lunch-line mini-series, (this being the first.) Today’s lunch was presented by principal Lainie and designer Tuan, to the rest of the j8 team- today’s lovely dishwashers. (Notice how even the lime green bowl eclipses the sea foam green plate? It’s always about presentation with us design people!) To start, we had a salad with a SoCal inspired flavor. Atop a fresh bed of green, leafy spinach we placed sticky, short grain rice. (Best way to check stickiness? We allow Lainie’s son to prod it. If it sticks to his finger it is sticky enough). Then add hot, vegetarian chili to steam the spinach ever so slightly. Next, include finely diced tomatoes, preferably from the vine, and slices of creamy avocado, a dash of fresh pepper and coarse, kosher salt. As a side, try Trader Joe’s Trader Joe’s Pizza Margherita to warm the body, and provide a crunch that vibrates to the bone. Drinks? Tangy Apple-Cran juice. Topic? Try American Cheese Code cracker and psychologist turned market researcher Clotaire Rapille. Hungry yet?

don’t forget to add a dash of witty conversation about the “cracked code of cheese” within the American psyche… cheese is dead, ala body bag and morgue. (thank you Mr. Rapille) Yummy!
