Yuck…Duck Plums?

08.01.07 | Comment?

As I routinely reached for the label on my plum, I was taken aback. “Disney Gardens?!? eeeeeeww,” I thought. I had to investigate this further. It seems that Disney has begun the branding and marketing process for its new line of produce. Products already available from the Disney Gardens line of produce are Apples, Watermelon, Peaches and of course Plums, among others. In general I am repelled by the sugar coated Disney and their continual video regurgitations. I wondered how “Could they grow anything worth eating.” The brand logo itself is so small, that what actually sparked my interest was not the brand but the iconic Donald Duck on the sticker. However disgusted I am with Disney, they are beginning to provide organic fruits, veggies and the like in attempts to get kids more interested in their own eating habits. Also, they are working on getting kids more interested by providing a site with community content, fruit and veggie sticker collecting, kids recipes, eating games and more. Using their large, successful name to get kids to eat healthy food huh? Perhaps they are FINALLY on to something?
