jungle [8], a Day in the Life

Things work a bit differently here in the jungle . We jungle dwellers pride ourselves on taking a unique approach to branding and design. We thrive on creativity and enjoy a good challenge. We are a varied group, with checkered pasts, long rap sheets and various warrants - not really though, our records were sealed long ago, and we’ve reformed, we swear. In truth, we are a motley bunch of designers, artists, writers and all around creative animals; we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Most days in the jungle start around 10:30 with massive quantities of coffee, a status meeting and then the real fun begins; work! No, really, we love what we do and that’s why we do it. The jungle is a true creative collective, a place where everyone’s voice is heard; some more often than others.

This jungle atmosphere of ours often leads to friendly verbal abuse, outbursts of NERF fueled violence, and the sort of ’sibling rivalry’ that keeps the creativity flowing. But in the end, bloodied, bruised and emotionally scarred, we’re all on the same team. We even have a noble mascot,’Velvet’ the turtle (a red eared slider to be exact). Velvet is our muse, our confidant, a pugnacious escape artist and the ever vigilant mediator between our fiery creative eruptions (she does what she can from the aquarium).

Each jungle dweller brings their own creative mojo to the table; we count on it. From our elusive word monkeys, to our typography monsters, to our pasty, groaning, programming zombies; the jungle ecosystem relies on each of its individual components to function as well as it does.

Despite the hostile working environment, disgruntled co-workers, lax personal hygiene and rampant Tourette’s like outbursts, the jungle is a wonderful, thriving place to be. Each jungle inhabitant offers a valuable perspective, a repository of creative know-how and an an ongoing enthusiasm for life and work in the wilds of the creative jungle .
